Recertification
This course provides the mandatory 2-year recertification training for emission inspectors. It includes information on all PA OBD regions relative to vehicles subject to emission inspection and emission updates.
Recertification Training may be taken up to 6 months prior to expiration date to retain the original expiration date. Recertification may be taken before 6 months but the expiration date will occur 2 years from the test date.

Certification Training
This course leads to certification by PennDOT as an "Emission Inspector." It contains 15 hours of classroom instruction, 1 hour written exam and computer-based test. This certification is required in order to inspect vehicles for OBD emission testing.
Inspector Certification is good for 2 years.
